Condolences note

São Gonçalo do Amarante, July 17th, 2020

It is with the deepest sorrow that Companhia Siderúrgica do Pecém (CSP) reports the death of one of our employees, victim of the new coronavirus (Covid-19), this Friday, July 17th. Born in Fortaleza, Ceará, we was working at CSP since September 2015, as a maintenance technician, Steelmaking and Continuos Casting Maintenance Management. He was diagnosed with Covid-19 and had been admitted to Hospital Otoclínica in May 16th, where he died. He spent two months in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), in a difficult battle to overcome the disease. His case evolved showing complications and he didn’t bear up.

Our employee’s family is having full support from CSP at this very difficult time. We have reported the case to all authorities. We express our solidarity with Vilanildo’s family and friends.

CSP has taken all preventive measures, in vigilant, stringent and collaborative ways. Since March, we have put in place more than 40 internal and external preventive measures through the Contingency Plan, led by an internal committee dedicated to this crisis.
