CSP is approved in IATF and ISO 9001 certifications, attesting to high quality steels for the automotive industry

The Certification is aligned with the company’s strategy to operate more strongly in markets with higher steel quality requirements

Companhia Siderúrgica do Pecém (CSP) was approved by the rigorous audits for IATF and ISO 9001 certifications. With IATF, the steelmaker from Ceará is able to supply steel to the automotive sector, attesting to a series of internal requirements, in addition to having a premium product.

ISO 9001, on the other hand, attests to the company’s quality management system, which establishes guidelines for the production of steel, aiming at making the Pecém steelmaker a world reference in safety, quality, cost, technological and sustainable development.

The final audit was performed from October 13th to 16th, when the auditors visited CSP to analyze the company’s processes. With the current method of work, the audit steps were performed in a hybrid way: in person and online.

Why is IATF important?

1 – Products in the automotive sector have higher prices, compared to other products;
2 – CSP can establish a long-term supply relationship;
3 – The automotive industry is one of the most important in the world economy.

Certification brings the following benefits:
1 – Internationally acknowledged practices for quality management;
2 – Improvement of efficiency and effectiveness, through the use of statistical tools for process control and risk management;
3 – Improvement of the documentation system;
4 – Obtaining greater recognition from customers.

The certification was created in 1999 by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF), with the aim of unifying the different assessment and certification systems worldwide in the supply chain to the automotive sector.
